I am writing to you because I will need an extension on my August rent payment. As you know, my rent is always paid on the 1st of each month and no later than the 5th. Unfortunately, I will not be able to send the money on time and would like an extension to August 20. Nature Publishing Group, where I used to work, was acquired by One Media Holdings last month. This company moved its corporate headquarters to Wilmington, Delaware. Although I lost my job, Nature Publishing Group’s employees here were promised severance pay but have yet to receive it. Company attorneys insist that payments will be made by August 18th. I have leased this apartment from you for several years and have never been late with rent payment. As this apartment is comfortable and quiet, I have no desire to leave this place. My financial problems will be resolved, since I will start a new job at the beginning of September.
