People used to say, "The hand that rocks the cradle(摇篮)rules the world. " and " 【B1】 every successful man there’s a woman." 【B2】 these saying mean the same thing. Men 【B3】 the world, but their wives rule them. Most of the American women like 【B4】 their husbands and 【B5】 successful, 【B6】 some of them want 【B7】 for themselves. They want 【B8】 jobs. When they work they want to be 【B9】 paid. They want to be as successful as 【B10】 . The American women’s liberation(解放)movement was started by women who don’t want to 【B11】 successful men. They want to stand 【B12】 men, with the same chance for success. They don’t want to be told that certain jobs or offices are 【B13】 to them. They refuse to work side by side with men who do the same work for 【B14】 pay. A 【B15】 woman must be 【B16】 of being a woman and have confidence (自信)in 【B17】 . If somebody says to her, "You’ve come a long way, baby. "She’ll smile and answer, "Not nearly as 【B18】 as I’m going to go, baby!" This movement is quite new, and 【B19】 American women do not agree. But it has already made some important changes in women’s 【B20】 and in men’s lives, too.
