There’s a subtle but important difference when a student receives help only from trying to gain entry into a college versus the student who receives help trying to gain more skills as a writer. I’d rather read the essay of the student who is striving to be a better writer and uses the college essay as an opportunity to showcase their writing versus the student who’s initial ideas have been polished to perfection by a team of outside advisors.
