The core of the in-group consists of members of the extended family and individuals who have joined the family through marriage. The in-group also contains people who have proved 1 , which reflects an essential characteristic of the in-group, namely that all members can trust one another 2 . Such mutual trust is natural because every group member 3 the well-being of the group. Close ties of friendship are often expressed 4 kinship. A good friend is called brother and, in many ways, is treated as a brother. The in-group faces the outside world or "out-group". People in the outside world also think first and 5 of their own in-group interests. Anyone from the out-group should therefore be mistrusted by 6 .In a typical F-culture, loyalty and 7 towards the family always take precedence over loyalty towards friends, business associates and the demands of the job. Relatives must help one another and offer 8 assistance. Family ties thus create safety and certainty. Individuals can 9 psychological as well as material support at all times. They cannot easily afford to risk losing such support because they are 10 that their relatives are the only people who can really be trusted. In this way, an individual"s family largely determines with whom he will associate and how problems will be solved.
