The mass (大规模) production of cars was developed by Henry Ford in the 1920s and 1930s. At that time, Ford wanted to know how to build cars as quickly and cheaply as possible. It is only recently that people have begun to think about what happens to cars when we no longer use them. People have become slaves (奴隶) to the car over the last 60 years. As more new cars are built, the old ones are thrown away to become piles of waste. At the time when people are becoming more "green", that is, paying more attention to the environment, the problem of used cars is now more of an environmental nightmare (噩梦) than ever. The materials used to build cars—mainly steel, plastic, and rubber-are all long-lasting (持久的) and it takes hundreds of years for them to disappear naturally. For example, rubber tires have always been a big environmental problem, and it takes quite a lot of money to make an old rubber tire useful again. A large number of cars began to be produced in the 1920s and 1930s.

Many countries never have snow or they have it only on the tops of very high mountains. In Scotland (苏格兰) and in the north of England, there is a lot of snow every winter. But in the south of England, there is usually little. When a student from a warm country, like Malaysia (马来西亚) or Indonesia (印度尼西亚) comes to England in autumn for the first time, he feels cold at first. There are often dark clouds, grey sky and cold rain in England in autumn, and most students from warm countries do not like this. Snow is very beautiful, though it is very cold. Perhaps, after several dark evenings the student wakes up one day, and there is a lot of light in his room. He thinks, "Is it so late" and jumps out of bed. But no, it is not very late. He looks out of the window and there is snow here and there. The light in his room comes from that clean, beautiful white snow. ______ is the best title of the passage.
A. Snow in England
B. England and Scotland
C. The beautiful scenery (风景) in England
