The Lady with the LampBack to the middle of the 19th century, England was at war with Russia, and an English army was fighting the Russians in a place called the Crimea. Disturbing reports began coming to England, regarding the terrible conditions in the hospitals where the wounded men were being treated. At the time, Florence Nightingale was in charge of a small hospital in London.
